An industry veteran has warned that the UK will “miss out” to other countries on subsea growth without a “critical” oil and gas sector deal.
Trevor Garlick, director of Opportunity North East and a former BP North Sea boss, was giving evidence to the Scottish Affairs Committee at Westminster yesterday.
He said timing was ‘critical’ for the proposed deal, with other countries such as Norway and Brazil working on similar plans.
