Salmon processor Lossie Seafoods has set its sights on further expansion into international markets after securing a £3.2 million funding package.
Part of the Buckie-headquartered Associated Seafoods (ASL), the firm, also based at the Moray port, said it hopes to add to its workforce as production increases.
The company sells smoked salmon under the Pride of Scotland brand and supplies high-end UK supermarket chains.
It has grown since its 2011 acquisition by ASL, and has created 50 jobs in the past year.
ASL managing director Victor West said: “Our goal is to produce the finest quality Scottish seafood for customers around the world, and really put Scotland and its products on to the map.
“Lossie Seafoods was founded over 100 years ago, and we still use smoking and curing techniques developed over the generations.
“Our extensive experience makes us stand out in the market,” he added.
Eileen Tocher, of Royal Bank of Scotland, which provided the funding, added: “Victor and the team at Lossie Seafoods supply the highest quality products possible, which is opening up opportunities for the business, both nationally and abroad.
“The company has expanded at a rapid rate in the last few years, thanks to the team’s ambitious growth plans and their dedication.”
