Organisers of the annual cHeRries Awards in Aberdeen are on the hunt for the cream of the crop among human resources (HR) professionals in the region.
Their search for budding winners of the highly-prized “top cherry” award for outstanding contribution, presented to someone who has been nominated by peers within the industry, is still under way but the deadline for entries is approaching fast.
Entry forms are available at www.cherriesawards.co.uk and names must be in by midnight on Sunday, meaning firms or employees need to move quickly to make sure outstanding examples of HR among them have a chance of getting a well-deserved gong.
The top cherry award is sponsored by wealth management and employee benefit services firm Mattioli Woods, which also sponsors the overall event.
Wendy Atkinson, business development manager, Mattioli Woods, said: “We are delighted to once again sponsor both the cHeRries and the top cherry award, supporting those demonstrating excellence in HR, training and recruitment in north-east Scotland.”

Last year’s top cherry winner was Stewart Milne Group HR director Karen Catto, who joined the Aberdeenshire-based construction company in 1996 after roles in the oil and gas and paper-making sectors.
She initially worked in a marketing and communications role and was promoted into her current position in 2007.
The Press and Journal cHeRries Awards – also sponsored by Robert Gordon University – recognise excellence in the fields of HR, training and recruitment.
There are 11 gongs up for grabs in the free-to-enter 2019 edition.
As well as the top cherry, these include a new community award named after former cHeRries judge Mike Reid. Mr Reid died last May of cancer.
More than 450 people packed out the venue for last year’s cHeRries Awards ceremony.
A similar number are expected to witness the climax to the 2019 competition at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on Thursday May 30.
