The final countdown has begun for the highly anticipated cHeRries Awards.

With just one week to go the event will kick off in style in the Boyd Orr Suite of Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.

As well as the awards themselves, guests will enjoy a drinks reception and the chance to win some prizes during the evening before the ceremony itself.

Following the announcement of the 2019 winners, entertainment will be provided by the band The Brightside.

With around 450 HR professionals attending, there are only two tables left.

The event will be supporting the ARCHIE Foundation to raise money for local sick children who are in hospital for lengthy periods.

ARCHIE is the official charity of the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, Tayside Children’s Hospital and the Highland Children’s Unit at Raigmore Hospital.

The charity supports around 200,000 children and their families every year.

The NHS staff provide amazing care while ARCHIE sees to the extras – advanced training and equipment, specialist staff, child-friendly environments, and extensive support to the families of sick children.

Host for the evening will be Jason Mohammad, host of BBC One’s Final Score, who also fronts BBC coverage of snooker and rugby.

Away from sport Jason has co-hosted Crimewatch, covering updates on cases the show is following, and appeared in Doctor Who, proving his acting skills as a news presenter in two Christmas specials.

The Press and Journal cHeRries Awards, held in association with Robert Gordon University and supported by wealth management and employee benefit services firm Mattioli Woods, recognise excellence in HR, training and recruitment.

Awards up for grabs include the Top Cherry, the Blossoming Award, Excellent HR Manager and Extraordinary HR Initiative.

Limited tickets are available for the event, and can be purchased via www.cherriesawards.co.uk or by contacting Laura Adam on 01382 575308.
