Construction workers at St Fergus Gas plant to be balloted amid safety concerns

Construction workers at St Fergus Gas plant are to be balloted for industrial action.
Unite announced today the dispute relates to “safety concerns and attacks on the terms and conditions of Unite construction workers” at the plant near Peterhead, which processes oil and gas from offshore installations in the North Sea.
The union said it has concerns that employer Wood plans to withdraw a longstanding payment to workers who carry out safety work.
It claims the withdrawal of the payment could cut worker wages by £103 per week for some.
