An online initiative, billed as “the world’s first virtual whisky festival” has been declared a “huge hit” after attracting more than 10,000 viewers.
The three-hour event, organised by the makers of Tomatin Single Malt, distilled near Inverness, was live-streamed on social media at the weekend.
Other distilleries that took part in the Lockdown Whisky Festival included Adelphi, Arran, BenRiach, Cu Bocan, Glencadam, Glen Moray, Kilkerran, Kilchonan, Paul John and Tomintoul.
Scott Adamson, global brands ambassador at Tomatin Distillery, said: “It’s exciting to be the first distillery to host a virtual whisky festival and we’re thankful for the other distilleries who have chosen to get involved and support it.”
