North property firm ASG Commercial says a “good sound business” up for sale in the Highlands can thrive under new ownership.
Current owners Rob Coupar and Lesley Smithers have run Glenan Lodge guesthouse in Tomatin for many years without staff and to suit their lifestyles, but they have decided it is time to retire and relocate.
“The village is crying out for a pub and most importantly a restaurant to serve the local needs and we are well aware of this,” the pair said, adding: “We have chosen to concentrate on bed and breakfast sales and field sporting clients, restricting wet and food sales to a level we could manage together.”
Inverness-based ASG points to good trading figures and positive comments on a booking website as proof the business has been run well.
ASG commercial director Paul Hart said: “Any chef or prospective buyer wanting to establish his or herself within the restaurant with rooms sector would be well-placed to establish themselves here.”
Glenan Lodge – on the market at offers over £399,999 – is a detached Victorian country house, with many traditional features and seven en-suite bedrooms.
There is also development potential as the current owners do not use or let the ground floor self-contained accommodation, so letting capacity could be increased.
Mr Hart said: “Good-sized gardens, ample parking and comfortable owners’ accommodation combined with sound trading figures and beautiful views make Glenan Lodge an attractive proposition.”
