EFC Group has appointed Anand Puthran as its managing director, a newly created role for the Aberdeen energy service company.
Mr Puthran brings the designer and manufacturer of instrumentation, monitoring, handling and control systems more than 15 years’ experience in managerial roles in the oil and gas industry.
He was most recently with ABB in Workington, where he managed the product manufacturing unit and centre of excellence for the company’s measurement product offerings to oil and gas clients.
The Aberdeen Business School graduate previously spent seven years in Aberdeen as director of operations and central services for Online Electronics, where he led strategic projects.
EFC chief executive Bob Will said: “Anand has joined us with a high degree of industry experience and I am confident he will be a real asset to the company.
“It is crucial that the correct team is in place to achieve our long-term objectives.
“The evolution of EFC Group has set us on track to exceed our target of £30million turnover by 2016; we need to continue to develop our business and service offering to ensure that this is achieved.”
EFC employs 150 people across offices in Aberdeen, Leeds, the US and Singapore.
It also has international representation in Norway, Abu Dhabi, Mexico, India and Brazil.
The firm was set up 25 years ago as Electro-Flow Controls.
A management buy-in led to the integration of mechanical handling business Celeris with Electro-Flow’s subsea, instrumentation and control divisions to form EFC Group.
