North-east computer-software specialist Inoapps is targeting new business across the Atlantic through a new office in Houston.
Inoapps, which has its headquarters in Fourntainhall Road, Aberdeen, said it was investing more than £1.2million in the expansion.
The new office will initially add 10 people to the firm’s current 200-strong team of employees and associates.
But the US operation is expected to treble in size within a year.
Chief executive Andy Bird said: “This US expansion is a key part of our wider corporate goal to achieve £50million turnover by 2015.”
Inoapps, known mainly for its Oracle computer software, already has customers across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
It supports clients in industries including energy, engineering, construction, information technology, financial services and manufacturing as well as local and central government.
Recent expansion follows a £10million investment of growth capital from the Business Growth Fund, the independent company established to provide growth capital to UK firms.
