Moray accountancy firm Faith Simpson has expanded its presence to Aberdeenshire after taking over Huntly business David Brown & Co.
The move – prompted by David Brown’s recent retirement – has added two long-standing employees of the Huntly business to Faith Simpson’s existing six-strong workforce.
Managing director Faith Simpson said it could lead to a large jump in the Elgin firm’s turnover over the next few years.
She added: “Opening an office in Huntly is an important step forward for us and I am extremely proud to be taking the reins from such a well-respected firm of accountants.
“I look forward to growing our business in Huntly and attracting new clients from Aberdeen and the surrounding area, while we continue to build the practice.”
Mr Brown said: “I will miss the interaction with my clients but am pleased to be placing the firm in the hands of Faith Simpson.
“I established the company 15 years ago and am delighted our accountancy services will still be available to the Huntly area, despite my retirement.”
Launched in 2006, Faith Simpson services a variety of clients across the north-east in many sectors, from sole traders to major players in the oil and gas industry.
