Global public relations company Weber Shandwick said yesterday it had appointed Andrew Jones to a newly created role, senior vice president in Scotland, based in Aberdeen.
“Andrew will primarily be responsible for delivering senior level client counsel, managing emergency response and crisis management and further developing the firm’s media training capabilities,” it added.
Mr Jones joins the business from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, where he headed up the multimedia journalism programme for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
He was previously north head at BBC Scotland, with responsibility for editorial and corporate leadership across production centres in Aberdeen, Inverness, Kirkwall and Lerwick.
Weber Shandwick said it had also appointed trhee consultants for its Aberdeen office following a year of “significant” growth in the Granite City.
