Media and communications agency AVC Media said yesterday it had swooped to buy fellow Aberdeen firm Red Mist Media (RMM) after targeting the business for a while.
RMM employs 10 people and provides a range of online media services for the energy industry.
AVC, which is about to move into new offices, has bought it off international cable management company Interkab for an undisclosed sum.
Spencer Buchan, AVC owner and chief executive, said: “The acquisition of Red Mist Media has been on our radar for some time.
“We considered their range of services and client portfolio as an attractive supplement to the digital work we already produce for our own energy sector clients.”
He added: “It is a very exciting time for AVC Media as we move to our newly renovated headquarters in the former Grandholm Mill.
“Over £250,000 has been spent in transforming the former Spice Mill restaurant into a state-of-the-art, modern media hub where we can grow and develop our staff talent and client solutions.
“It will be a great addition to have the team from Red Mist Media join us in our new chapter.”
RMM director Brian Smith said: “Following previous talks about the partnership, we felt it was the right time for the team at Red Mist Media to be taken forward by a dynamic and entrepreneurial company such as AVC Media in order for it to grow.”
