An Aberdeen air system engineering firm has opened a new workshop following a £2.5million investment in its existing site.
MB Air Systems, which employs 22 at its site at Dyce, said a second unit on its site will be developed next year and will be marketed for lease.
The firm said its new unit extends to 13,500 sq ft, and is home to office accommodation, a workshop and training academy alongside a 150 tonne undercover test tower.
MB Air Systems, which has an annual turnover of £21million, has been operating from its Dyce base since 1991. The firm was bought out by its management from Motherwell Bridge in 2002.
The firm said it began redeveloping the site in July last year after seeing an increase in demand for its services.
Steve Harkin, a director of MB Air Systems, said: “As our expertise and reputation continues to open up new opportunities, a redevelopment of our existing site in Dyce really was integral to our future growth plans.
“The redevelopment has significantly strengthened our overall capabilities, with the new workshop, training facility and test tower set to benefit us greatly as we continue to target new areas of work within the compressed air, industrial and offshore lifting, power tool and pneumatics sectors. It also allows us to progress the research and development element of our business.
The company services its oil and gas clients from its base in Aberdeen and also has a network of engineering facilities throughout the UK.
