A north-east oil and gas fire safety protection company has won three major contracts worth £3million combined.
Blaze Manufacturing Solutions, which was established in 2006 by husband and wife team Howard and Ann Johnson, secured the deals with a trio of unnamed oil and gas clients.
The business wins are significant for Blaze which last year saw turnover rise 68% to £13.2million in the year to the end of March 2014. Recently the firm said it was on track a turnover of more than £19million this year.
The firm, headquartered in Laurencekirk, specialises in the design and supply of fire protection, fire and gas detection, control systems, loss prevention and consultancy services.
The recent contract wins includes the design, manufacture, inspection, testing and delivery of a engineered helideck fire suppression system skid package to a major operator.
Recently the firm added eight members of staff, boosting the number of employees to 32 plus 67 contractors to meet growing demand.
Mr Johnson said: “The oil and gas industry is a niche market for fire safety protection systems, and securing the contracts in the current climate is a major boost for Blaze, reinforcing our expertise at the forefront of fire safety detection and protection system engineering, ensuring we supply a tailor made solution to our clients’ specific requirements.”
Clients of the firm have included Perenco, Enquest, TAQA, Apache and Talisman Sinopec.
