A family-run Aberdeenshire business is celebrating a new contract to supply produce to a major Scottish convenience retail chain.
The Store, which is based in Foveran, near Ellon, has secured the deal to stock its home-reared Aberdeen Angus beef products, including its award-winning sausages, burgers, hotdogs, and a range of ready meals in some of Scotmid Co-operative’s north-east outlets.
Andrew Booth, owner and managing director of The Store, said: “We have a strong vision of providing natural, high quality, local produce to our customers and with this new contract win we will be able to provide our fresh products to Scotmid customers too.
“This is an exciting time for us and we have already discussed the possibility of adding new stores and new products to the ranges we already supply, which is great.
“We look forward to further developing our relationship with Scotmid Co-operative and its customers and showcasing our products throughout Scotland.”
Stephen Brown, local sourcing manager for Scotmid, said: “We are thrilled to be launching this new partnership with The Store as part of our on-going commitment to supporting local suppliers.
“Our stores are rooted in local communities and we want to offer our customers great value products sourced from the very best local producers.”
The Store, which is run by four generations of farmers and has its own on-site butchery, farm shop deli and coffee shop, prides itself on its “farm to fork” ethos.
Its “five figure sum” Scotmid contract covers convenience stores in Laurencekirk, Inverbervie and Bieldside in Aberdeen.
