William Grant and Sons’ awarded another £2million-plus pay package to its highest earning director in 2014, the Moray whisky company’s accounts have revealed.
Macduff-based William Grant announced its 2014 results last month, reporting record profits despite a dip in turnover.
But full accounts lodged at Companies House and made public only yesterday carry details of the best-paid director’s remuneration last year.
The best paid boss earned £2.024million, excluding pension contributions, which was down slightly from £2.085million the year before.
William Grant is led by chief executive Stella David, who in September said a 4% rise in after tax profits to £139.8million was driven by “our constant focus on brand building and investing for the long term”.
Turnover fell at the firm, whose brands include single malt Glenfiddich, fell 16% to £933.2million.
The full accounts also reveal pre-tax profits of £175.7million last year, up slightly from just over £174million in 2013.
