A total of 17 full and part-time jobs are believed to have been shed at the Aberdeen branch of travel chain ATPI Group.
ATPI, which has its head office in London, confirmed a “small number” of redundancies but would not give any figures.
Its is thought the Granite City branch – led by Gary Hance – employed 50 people before the job losses, which UK managing director Adam Knights said was due to trading conditions in the energy sector.
A spokeswoman for the firm said: “ATPI has reviewed its operations in Aberdeen and shaped its staffing requirement to reflect both current and projected trading conditions.
“We remain fully committed to our Aberdeen operation.”
Mr Knights added: “The reshaping of the … business is currently underway.”
ATPI has been trading in Aberdeen for more than 25 years. Its Bridge Street branch in the Granite City is one of five group operations – the others are in Burnley, London, Lowestoft and Manchester, run from HQ.
Private-equity firm Equistone Partners Europe sold ATPI to its management, backed by specialist investor Intermediate Capital Group (ICG), just over three years ago for an undisclosed sum.
ATPI operates from 100 locations globally, specialising in areas including business travel, corporate event management and online travel technology.
