Highland distillery, Tomatin, celebrated a 40% increase in numbers passing through its doors by toasting its success with their local MP.
Drew Hendry took a tour of the facilities at the centre and finished off enjoying a dram of whisky.
The company updated its facilities, opening up more of the distillery to visitors. The investment has seen the visitor centre revenues increase 50% to £580,000, the firm said.
Drew Hendry, MP for Inverness said: “It has been fantastic to visit Tomatin today, where I met the people that live and work on-site, to craft this local whisky that is enjoyed around the world. The whisky, the beautiful scenery and the people make it unique. It is no wonder the centre has been attracting so many people each year.”
Tomatin is distinct in that it is a distillery-based community, in which 80% of staff live and work onsite in 30 distillery houses.
