North engineering firm Korrie Mechanical and Plumbing is targeting business growth of 15-20% this year following a change of ownership.
The Inverness company was merged with a central belt business last year and now operates as part of Glasgow-based Ingen Technical Services.
Accounts for Korrie just released by Companies House show pre-tax profits totalling £921,767 in 2015, up from £492,879 the year before.
Turnover grew to £13.1million last year, from £10.1million previously.
Signing off the figures in April, director Donnie Fraser said: “2015 has been a hugely significant year for Korrie.
“Because of the strength of the brand it has been agreed with the Ingen board that, going forward, it will continue to trade under the Korrie brand but as part of the Ingen group.
Mr Fraser, who is also a director of Ingen, said all of Korrie’s business divisions enjoyed strong growth last year, adding: “We envisage further growth and development in the Highlands, together with geographical spread towards the east of the country.
“We will also be looking to become a significant national business in our sector, and have targeted growth in the Highlands of 15-20% annually in the next two years.”
Korrie is ultimately owned by Edwin James Holdings (EJH), whose chairman is Billy Allan – a former chief executive and chairman of Aberdeen-based oil and gas logistics firm Asco Group.
Mr Allan set up EJH last year, and is now part of an Ingen boardroom team led by fellow Partick Thistle FC director Greig Brown.
Korrie employed 108 people on average last year, up from 92 in 2014.
Mr Fraser founded the business in Inverness six years ago, since when it has grown to also embrace operations in Thurso and Fort William.
