Banff-born singer-songwriter Sandi Thom has been unveiled as the star turn at this year’s cHeRies Awards 2016.
The multi-instrumentalist initially rose to fame when her song, “I wish I was a punk rocker (with flowers in my hair)” topped the UK singles charts in 2006.
The sparkling June awards event will be the first live show in Scotland Ms Thom has played since the birth to her baby boy, Logan.
The pop start will be flying in from London on the night to perform a selection of hits from her five studio albums including “Smile… It Confuses People”, “The Pink & the Lily”, “Merchants and Thieves”, “Flesh And Blood” and “The Covers Collection”.
Ms Thom will join the special night along with comedian Fred MacAulay who will act as the star-studded evening’s host.
Now entering its ninth year, the 2016 cHeRies Awards will be held on June 2 at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC). The event will provide a fantastic platform for showcasing the best HR professionals and practices across the region.
The annual awards scheme features nine categories and attracts an audience of more than 500.
The awards, which celebrate specialists in the field of human resources, training and recruitment in the north-east of Scotland, has nine categories, including the night’s biggest award, the Top Cherry for Outstanding Contribution.
