Scottish chartered accountancy firm Chiene + Tait (C+T) has significantly grown its Inverness presence after opening an office in the city just over two years ago.
It is already eyeing further expansion after recently relocating into a larger 1,200sq ft office space at Fairways House in Fairways Business Park.
C&T’s Inverness team has gone from just two at the start to the point where the practice is currently recruiting its eighth member of staff.
The firm said its north office had enjoyed strong growth across a number of key sectors in the Highlands.
It highlighted work with owner-managed and farming, food and drink businesses, as well as landed estates charities and partnerships supported by a “thriving local market”.
The new premises allow room for further workforce expansion in the Highland capital, potentially to twice the current staff numbers, the firm said.
Shona Fraser, who is a director of C+T and also head of its Inverness office, said: “This is another exciting step forward in the progress of Chiene + Tait.
“In the two and half years since opening the Inverness office we’ve significantly grown the business across the Highlands.
“The new, larger premises will give us room to further expand the firm and allow us to double our overall team going forward.”
She added: “We’ve built a strong practice working with local entrepreneurs and businesspeople across a number of key sectors within the Highlands.
“Our clients have also benefitted from the wider specialisms within C+T’s Edinburgh head office, including a market-leading R&D (research and development) tax relief service and our digital accounting software team.”
C+T was formed in 1885 when George Chiene Jnr appointed James Tait as a partner in his firm.
Today, the business comprises more than 120 staff and 10 partners across offices in Edinburgh, Inverness, Glasgow and London.
Ms Fraser – educated at Nairn Academy and Aberdeen University – joined the firm’s Inverness office early in 2017 as business support director.
She previously worked for professional services giant EY, which she joined in 1984 as an audit trainee and progressed to a senior manager’s role in accounting and compliance reporting.
