The Press and Journal’s website has been nominated for a national award just days after the newspaper scooped one of the country’s top journalism accolades last week.
Following the relaunch of the P&J’s website last year, the new site has been nominated for Website of the Year in the UK Regional Press Awards.
The newspaper has also been shortlisted for the title of Best Daily/Sunday Newspaper Award (over 25,000 circulation).
The P&J will contend with the likes of the Birmingham Mail, the Liverpool Echo and Sunday Life to secure the coveted awards, the winners of which will be announced on May 15 in London.
Erikka Askeland, The Press and Journal’s business editor, was named the Financial-Business Journalist of the Year at the Scottish Press Awards ceremony in Glasgow last week.
The paper had been shortlisted to win five awards, and was also runner-up in the Campaign of the Year category for our ‘Fair Deal On Energy Prices’ campaign launched in October of last year and spearheaded by Westminster correspondent Calum Ross.
Scottish political editor David McKay was nominated for Reporter of the year, online editor Martin Little was shortlisted for innovation of the year for his relaunch of the Press and Journal website, and Rob Murray was nominated for Cartoonist of the Year.
