Plans to create a “thriving” new business community in Aberdeen have been approved by the city council.
Developer Goodman said its City North development would create 100,000 square feet of new office space.
It will be one of the biggest projects of its kind outside the city centre, creating three new buildings of 25,800sq ft, 30,800sq ft, and 45,600sq ft to accommodate up to 1,000 office workers.
Construction is due to start later this year.
Niall McGilp, Goodman’s regional development director for Scotland, said: “With planning permission now secured, we can now turn our attention to delivering this exciting new project.
“We’re confident that the quality of the accommodation at City North will be attractive to a broad range of potential customers.
“With the ideal location, coupled with eye-catching design from our architects Keppie Design, the commercial space will be among the best on offer to the local market.”
Property specialists Ryden and CBRE have been appointed as joint marketing agents for the development.
Ryden chartered surveyor Andrew Smith said: “City North will be one of the stand-out choices for companies in the north-east looking to relocate.”
Demolition experts have spent the past three months clearing the site, which included a derelict multi-storey car park.
The project marks the final stage of the redevelopment of a 30-acre site that was once home to BP’s North Sea headquarters.
Goodman’s regeneration work in the area has already delivered 220,000sq ft of office space for BP, which moved into its current building at Dyce in 2008, while about one-third of the site has been developed by housebuilder Barratt.
