Regus, the world’s largest provider of flexible workspace, is to open a third Aberdeen site.
The latest location is at the rapidly expanding ABZ Business Park next to the city’s airport.
A deal has been struck with the developer of the 54-acre park, ABZ Developments, for Regus to occupy the new Cirrus office building.
The centre will provide a range of fully-equipped workspace options and business services, including a business lounge, part-time and virtual offices, serviced facilities, meeting rooms and video conferencing.
Regus operates a network of 2,000 business centres in 104 countries.
Its sites, including existing Aberdeen operations in Berry Street and Riverside Drive, are used by a wide variety of firms and also people seeking somewhere to work when on the move.
Steve Purdy, the company’s managing director, said: “We are excited to open our new centre in ABZ Business Park and are already witnessing strong demand.
“The Cirrus building is an exciting addition to our network in Scotland, providing a new business location with excellent transport links, in close proximity to the airport.
“We expect strong take-up from local small businesses, start-ups and remote workers as well as national firms opening satellite offices and global businesses establishing a footprint in Scotland.”
ABZ Developments director Tim Stevenson said the developer’s confidence in pushing ahead with the speculative development of the two-storey Cirrus building had been rewarded.
Mr Stevenson added: “Regus is a recognised international brand and a great name to add to the growing list of leading businesses which have chosen ABZ as their preferred location.
“Business centre options in the Dyce area are limited and their offering will be attractive to a range of business operators, from small start-ups to larger companies who require short-term accommodation for project teams.”
The new business centre will be handed over to Regus in late November, and open soon after.
Meanwhile, ABZ Developments has awarded a further contract to Balfour Beatty for the construction of an additional 20,000 square feet, three-storey office building.
It represents a further £4million investment, taking ABZ’s total investment at the business park to £30million so far.
