Many were treated last night to the spectacular sight of the Northern Lights as solar activity went wild.
But for most parts of northern Scotland, bad weather and poor visibility meant the spectacle was hidden beneath the clouds.
But fear not – your luck may be in tonight, as scientists claim there is a chance the aurora borealis could still be seen tonight.
AuroraWatch UK said yesterday’s “geomagnetic storm is still continuing”, with the aurora likely to be visible from Scotland, northern England and Northern Ireland.
