These Kintore kids’ jokes will have you laughing out loud

Today is the day to enjoy a good laugh as the world celebrates International Joke Day.

Held every July 1, the day is designed to start the second half of the year with a smile and a chuckle.

As we emerge from a gruelling pandemic only to hit runaway inflation and conflict in Europe, we asked P3 pupils at Kintore Primary School to put a smile on our faces with their best jokes.

International Joke Day has fairly caught on since it started in 1994, as people share jokes, amusing stories, riddles or poems, funny videos and pictures every year online.

It’s true, laughter is the best medicine

Have you ever heard the saying ‘laughter is the best medicine’?

Well, scientists now believe that could actually be true.

Experts at Oxford University have found laughing can help us feel better if we’re in pain. They say it helps both our physical and mental health.

That’s because when we laugh, our bodies release chemicals called endorphins which make us feel good. These chemicals act as a natural painkiller.

But scientists say we won’t get the benefits from just a giggle – it has to be a proper belly laugh!

So with that in mind, we thank the Kintore kids for brightening up our day.
