A day care centre for children in Aberdeen has received top marks after an unannounced inspection.
Angels and Co, at St Clements Church on Mastrick Drive, was awarded the highest grading of “very good” in all categories it was scored upon.
The Care Inspectorate published its report yesterday, after visiting the centre in July to inspect the nursery’s quality of care and support, quality of environment, quality of staffing, and quality of management and leadership.
The report praised the “welcoming and warm atmosphere”, and said the children felt “secure, comfortable and supported.”
It added that staff were “very good role models” for the children, and had a strong knowledge and understanding of the needs of each child.
As part of the inspection, parents were issued with a questionnaire to gauge their thoughts on the service.
One parent wrote that Angels and Co “feels like a big family” while another said they “walk away happy knowing my child is with people that they trust”.
Another wrote: “Our child has developed so much at Angels and Co, we have no doubt that our childcare and education needs are being met.
“Our child’s confidence has grown immensely since attending the nursery.”
Angels and Co looks after a maximum of 31 children at any one time.
The report marks a significant improvement since the last inspection last May, when the nursery was graded only “adequate” in those categories under examination.
