The planned extension of an Aberdeen nursery will cost about £1.8 million, it has emerged.
Proposals to expand Cults primary school to meet new Scottish Government childcare targets were unveiled earlier this year.
New targets mean that councils across the country will have a duty to deliver 1,140 hours of free childcare for eligible two-year-olds and all three and four-year-olds by the 2020 to 2021 term.
Holyrood will give councils £476 million over four years to support the building projects required to meet those targets.
In September, multi-million-pound plans to improve or expand eight city schools were revealed by council bosses.
A building warrant has since revealed the likely cost of the extension at Cults.
