A new deli created by celebrity chef Jamie Oliver opened in Aberdeen yesterday in a UK-first.
The Robert Gordon University is the first in the UK to open one of the chef’s delis on campus.
More than 17,000 students will enjoy a selection of fresh produce at the establishment on the Garthdee campus.
Mr Oliver said: “I’m really excited to see this new site come to life.

“We’re bringing wholesome and delicious food to hard-working RGU students – and helping them find healthy food while juggling lecture timetables, deadlines and exams.”
Vicki Nairn, vice principal for corporate operations at the university, said: “RGU is the first university in the UK to embrace the Jamie’s Deli concept as one of its choices for catering on campus, which provide innovative, delicious and nutritious food for our campus community.”
Last year, Aramark Northern Europe and Jamie Oliver Restaurant Group entered a 10-year partnership.
Together, they opened the first in-company Jamie Oliver restaurant at JP Morgan in Dublin in December.
The Jamie Oliver restaurant on Union Street closed in 2017 and has now been replaced by the Miller and Carter steakhouse.
