Robert Gordon University (RGU) has introduced a scheme offering anonymous mental health advice online to all its staff and students.
Known as SilverCloud, the website aims “to help individuals help themselves” and is free, secure and easy to use.
It provides a range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) systems to help with depression, anxiety, stress and body image.
The programmes consist of motivational modules, which are full of information and techniques that people can complete at their own pace and incorporate into their daily lives.
Filippo Antoniazzi, director of student life at the university, said: “RGU has a long-standing commitment to supporting the wellbeing of its staff and students.
“We want to ensure that every member of our community has access to support wherever and whenever they need it.”
Created in partnership between the University staff and RGU:Union, the online set up ensures those individuals who use it remain anonymous.
Adam Johnston, student president of education and welfare, added: “There are so many new and increasingly complex problems facing students today, but together in partnership with the university we have been making a real change to life at RGU.”
