A new education centre has received a £100,000 boost to help improve the lives of young people across the north and north-east.
The Learning Hub, at Aberdeen University, will act as a meeting point for teachers, academics, practitioners and early years professionals to come together and exchange ideas.
This week, Northern Alliance invested £100,000 into the venture.
Training will be also delivered from the new facility, which will often also be accessible online.
The Hub came to be thanks to a scheme which brings together academics from Shetland, Orkney, the Highlands, Moray, Aberdeenshire, Aberdeen City, Argyll and Bute and the Western Isles to share best practice alongside a team from Education Scotland.
The Learning Hub was launched as part of efforts to support the Scottish Learning Festival taking place in Glasgow this week.
Key areas of focus for the group surround leadership, sustaining education in communities, raising attainment and closing the poverty-related attainment gap.
David Smith, head of Aberdeen University’s school of education, said: “We already have strong links with the local authorities in terms of educating new teachers and providing continued professional learning opportunities, and we look forward to building on those links through this superb new partnership.”
