Universities in the north and north-east are suspending on-campus teaching.
The suspension at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen comes into force at 9am tomorrow.
Online learning and alternative teaching and assessment arrangements are being put in place from 9am on March 23.
A university statement on its Twitter page said: “We are fully prepared to ensure teaching and assessment can be continued effectively while safeguarding the wellbeing of the university community.
“We are regularly reviewing and updating our COVID-19 Q&As for staff and students. These have been collated on our dedicated webpage, which can be accessed here:

A statement from the University of the Highlands and islands said: “We have decided to suspend the delivery of face-to-face teaching from 5pm on Friday 20 March to help reduce the risk of spread of coronavirus within our community. This arrangement will continue until further notice. More information:

North East Scotland College has also introduced a suspension of face-to-face learning, effective Tuesday morning.
