The incident caused King Street to be closed for the morning whilst emergency services worked at the scene
A pedestrian who died in a tragic accident involving a lorry has been named locally as Karen Gillanders.
The Aberdeen woman, believed to be in her 40s, was killed when she was struck by the HGV on King Street just after 9am yesterday morning.
Horrified bystanders rushed to Mrs Gillanders aid – who is understood to have just stepped out onto the road when she was hit – but she died at the scene.
