Guild Street

St Machar’s Cathedral
Painter Bob Smith shows he has a good head for heights as he puts the finishing touches to the spire of the south tower of St Machar’s Cathedral during renovations in 1982. At least the job gave Bob the chance to enjoy stunning views across the city, including out to the sea over the flats at Seaton.
Queen’s Links
It rained the day the circus came to town…but Brigette, from the American Three-Ring Circus does not seem very impressed with Carlos the Clown’s efforts to keep the weather at bay as the show started a 12-night run at Queen’s Links in 1987.
Kincorth
Members of the Kincorth Community Centre keep-fit class put their best foot forward as instructor Inger Bool, right, shows them the moves. The fitness enthusiasts were looking for more members back in 1990.
Mastrick
Mastrick mums and children were delighted with their new, improved play area at the North Anderson Drive/Provost Fraser Drive junction, after they campaigned for better facilities in 1986.

Kingswells

Powis
Pupils of class 1A at Powis Academy are busy planting trees round the school playing field in 1978 as part of the Keep Grampian Beautiful campaign. Supervising the planting is science teacher Mr Alan Bainbridge. Powis pupils are also to plant trees round Corby Loch, near Potterton.
