A student President is looking to the future after receiving a First Class Honours degree in Law and Management yesterday.
Lorna Stewart is President of Education and Welfare for Robert Gordon University (RGU) Students Association.
The 22-year-old moved to Aberdeen from the village of Borgie near Thurso, to study at both RGU and North East Scotland College as part of the 2+2 programme.
She said: “It was absolutely brilliant because my friends from school went to university the same year I started college, and we’ve graduated now at the same time, so I haven’t fallen behind them and we’re all at the same stage.
“I think 2+2 works really well, and I’m happy I had the opportunity to do it.”
Miss Stewart has enjoyed a number of exciting experiences while studying, including having the opportunity to visit the European Court of Human Rights and the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
She has a number of projects coming up in the next year in her role as Student President, and has no plans to give up her studying yet.
She said: “I’m currently the President of Education and Welfare at the Students Association, and next year I’m looking to do a Masters in Land Economy at the University of Aberdeen, and hopefully pursue a career in land management.”
