A Robert Gordon University graduate is one step closer to a career in music journalism after picking up her degree yesterday.
Stacey Pratt from Peterhead received her media degree after completing a 2+2 course at RGU and North East Scotland College.
She said: “I chose the media course as I have always been passionate about writing and have hopes to go into journalism.
“I felt a degree that goes into the wider aspects of the media would be a good foundation for achieving this.”
Miss Pratt, 23, completed an HND in media through the college, before entering the third year of the honours degree programme at RGU.
She was initially nervous about joining the degree half way through, but said: “I think it is good, because you get to experience what it’s like at college and what it’s like at uni, which are two completely different ways of doing things.
“You go into third year, so you get to meet a lot of new people, but you’ve still got your friends from college as well.”
Now that she has graduated, she hopes to go back to RGU and study a masters in journalism. She said: “My dream is to go into music journalism, to combine my two passions and have a job I will truly enjoy.”
