A north-east woman is celebrating after receiving her second degree.
Kathleen Noble from Ellon received an MSc in Social Work from Robert Gordon University (RGU) at yesterday’s ceremony.
The 26-year-old previously graduated from Aberdeen University with an MA in Anthropology and Gender Studies.
She said: “I’ve always been interested in learning about people, different cultures, different ways to understand the world.
“The course at Aberdeen was theoretical whereas social work allowed me to gain the practical experience to gain employment.”
Miss Noble, who is already putting her skills to good use working as a social worker with Aberdeenshire Council, was delighted to finish her course.
“On a practical level the course was quite demanding because it was full-time and there was a lot of coursework to do,” she said.
“This meant balancing time spent on university work, paid employment and also having a social life.
“I know that other members of my class also had to manage their time due to other commitments such as caring for family members and I’m proud that we have managed to gain our degrees while maintaining these commitments and dealing with life’s challenges.”
Miss Noble, who got engaged to her fiance Dan during the second year of her course, is now looking forward to her wedding next year.
