What: The Aberdeen International Youth Festival (AIYF) launch
Where: Elphinstone Hall, University of Aberdeen
Who: Christine Halsall from Creative Scotland, AIYF Artistic Director Stewart Aitken and Professor Albert Rodger from the University of Aberdeen all spoke at the event. Guests included Lord Provost George Adam and representatives from the festival’s sponsors and cultural partners
Why: The event was held to celebrate the start of the long-running youth arts festival. Aside from the speeches, guests were also treated to performances from some of the acts attending this year’s festival – namely the Burns Performers, a group that celebrate the work of Scotland’s bard, Elbrus Dance Troupe who perform traditional Jordanian dance and Madison Boychoir who are over 70-strong and have travelled from Madison, Wisconsin for AIYF
