A Moray-based teacher and mother-of-three yesterday collected her third qualification from Aberdeen University.
Felicity Stephen graduated with an MSc in Leadership in Professional Context, a part of which is the Scottish Qualification for Headship (SQH).
The SQH is a necessary qualification on route to becoming a school headteacher.
She currently works as a principal teacher of English at Lossiemouth High school, a role which she has done alongside her studies.
Mrs Stephen will continue in this role now she has graduated but will be on the look out for future headteacher roles.
She said: “This is pretty amazing and it has been a long time coming. I have been studying for this for more than five years, with a few breaks.
“One break came when I got promoted at work and another when I had my youngest son.
“There comes a point when you think you’re not going to get .”
She stressed the roles family members have made in this achievement:
“I could not have done this without the support of my mother and husband. I have three children, aged 14, 6 and 2 so it has been a busy time and I couldn’t have done it without them.”
She hopes that her passion for studying has set a good example for her pupils.
