Graduates from Robert Gordon University will showcase their talent at a prestigious art exhibition in Edinburgh.
10 former students from Gray’s School of Art and the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture and Built Environment will present their work at the Royal Scottish Academy (RSA) in the capital in April.
The display will feature a range of entries, spanning painting, photography, architecture and film making, submitted by more than 70 graduates from Scotland’s five art schools.
Siobhan Scott, 23, who graduated with a degree in printmaking, will present an installation depicting the sensation of waking up.
She said: “I’ve explored and developed the concepts that drove my degree show – sleep patterns, dreamscapes and the routine, ritual and sensation of waking up.
“I’ve been screen printing wallpaper and fabric for the show but have also been working with some new materials, such as soap, to make some sculptural elements.
“I’m quite anxious about the exhibition but I am really excited about the opportunity to show my work in the RSA with so many other amazing emerging artists.”
Also taking part is Ben Martin, who completed his sculpture degree with first class honours.
The 29-year-old said his pieces would be a continuation of the work he produced for his final degree show.
He added: “I use rope and steel to draw in a three dimensional space. My investigation into reductive art led me down a path that I continue to explore.”
Allan Watson, head of fine art at Gray’s, said the show was an excellent opportunity for the graduates.
“It is a great professional launch pad for their career,” he said.
