The free event, which is taking place on Thursday, May 14, at 6pm, will include a number of bite-size taster sessions for short courses which RGU has developed in response to the current economic climate in Aberdeen to help individuals learn new skills and enhance their careers.
The industry relevant short course taster sessions on offer range from an Introduction to Subsea Engineering, Unconventional Oil and Gas Resources Development and Marine Renewables to Entrepreneurship, the Changing Nature of Work and Corporate Social Responsibility.
There will also be a talk on how to manage careers through uncertainty as well as taster sessions for pathways to management qualifications.
Each of RGU’s three faculties will also be present with representatives on hand from postgraduate, online distance learning and part-time courses including computing, engineering and life sciences to business, surveying, law, social work, art and design and nursing.
Michael Greenhalgh, RGU’s interim director for marketing, communications and student recruitment, said: “Whether you have recently graduated, are looking to gain professional accreditation, retrain, enhance your skill set or advance your CPD, developing your knowledge and expertise within a specific field will increase your employability within the current competitive jobs market.
“RGU offers industry relevant programmes from short courses and undergraduate degrees, to masters and MBAs which take advantage of the university’s wide range of expertise in subjects including engineering, business, management, IT and health and safety.
“Our Postgraduate Open Evening provides an opportunity for individuals to get a better insight of the various programmes on offer and talk to the experts, helping to clarify your options and plan your next step to enhance your career.”
Members of academic and support staff will be available throughout the evening to discuss courses, talk about finance, careers, services and facilities, and answer questions on how to apply.
