Some hot scientific topics are to go under the microscope at Aberdeen University’s upcoming May Festival.
The science behind food will be explained in the Diet Myth on Saturday, May 30, when Tim Spector, professor of genetic epidemiology at King’s College, London, will set out to dispel many of the untruths surrounding eating fads.
Dr Ben Marsden from Aberdeen’s school of divinity, history and philosophy, will also explore the work of physicist James Clerk Maxwell.
Dr John Reid, honorary senior lecturer from the school of natural and computing sciences at Aberdeen will look into the role the university has played in shaping our understanding of light on May 27.
Throughout the weekend, drop-in events will allow visitors to meet Aberdeen scientists and learn more about their research.
A children’s programme will also take place.
The May Festival runs from Friday, May 29, to Sunday, May 31.
