Firefighters battled a blaze at a historic north-east university building last night.
Crews were called just after 4.30pm to Aberdeen University’s humanity manse, where a small ground floor fire had broken out.
They spent about half an hour extinguishing the blaze at the 18th century townhouse, which houses the Research Institute of Irish and Scottish studies.
Police were also called to the scene to deal with traffic management.
A back window was left blackened by the fire last night but there were no injuries.
A police spokesman said the blaze was “definitely not” suspicious and an accidental cause had yet to be identified.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said fire officers were investigating last night.
She added: “We received the call at 4.31pm and the stop message came back at 5.07pm.
“Four appliances were in attendance, two from North Anderson Drive and two from Aberdeen Central.
“No specialist equipment was used and there were no injuries.”
A university spokesman said: “Emergency services were called to our Kings College campus at approximately 4.30pm today after a small fire broke out on the ground floor the humanity manse building, an office space located by College Bounds in Old Aberdeen.
“The fire was quickly dealt with and caused only minor damage, and the small number of people who were in the building at the time are safe and well.”
