When Sarah McNeil found out she had achieved her degree she screamed at the computer for 10 minutes.
The 22-year-old from Macduff was a little more relaxed as she attended her graduation ceremony at His Majesty’s Theatre yesterday.
Miss McNeil was unsure what she wanted to do when she left school, and opted for law and management because it was a broad subject.
She said: “I made the right decision and have never looked back.
“The entire experience was harder than I ever anticipated, and I was pretty confident it would be a challenge.
“When I went into fourth year all I could think about was the fact that every single grade mattered.
“The course has been wonderful though.”
She balanced her studies alongside a part-time job at Toys R Us, as she was determined to succeed on her own.
She said: “As soon as I moved away I had to get a job, I’d had one since I was 13 and there was no way I was going to start scrounging off my folks for four years.
“During particularly difficult periods at university, work was like my social life.
“I’d work as much as I could in my holidays, and throughout fourth year work supported me a lot.”
She now plans to go travelling with to Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia and Australia all mapped as future destinations.
