A sporting enthusiast from Forres celebrated reaching the finishing line as he attended his graduation ceremony at His Majesty’s Theatre yesterday.
Matthew Fraser, 24, picked up a first class honours in applied sport and exercise science from Robert Gordon University (RGU).
Before starting the course he worked as a sports coach and attended Moray College.
His dream is to work with a football club and he felt attending university was the best way of achieving this.
Mr Fraser said: “I am very proud of myself for graduating from RGU and excited for the future.
“I would never have thought five years ago that I would graduate from university with a first class honours degree.
“All the work I have done to get here has paid off.”
During his third year he volunteered with patients recovering from brain injuries.
He said: “Working with patients on their recovery was an extremely rewarding experience.
“It gives them the opportunity to get back into an active environment after suffering such an intense injury.”
And his days of studying are not yet over, as he has been accepted to study a masters degree in sport performance enhancement at Edinburgh Napier University.
