A University of Aberdeen researcher has gone on trial accused of stalking a senior colleague by filling his Facebook page with “creepy” and “disturbing” love letters about her.
Student Ramgar Chavoshinejad is accused of publishing dozens of posts on the the social media site declaring his love for his mentor Dr Ruth Banks.
Banks, 29, a post doctorate diabetes researcher with the University of Aberdeen, estimated Chavoshinejad put six to eight posts a day online, addressed to “sweet pea RB”.
Dr Banks unfriended him on the site but as his profile was public she claims she could see him continue to put the bizarre messages on his timeline.
Dr Banks said their relationship was purely professional but that he began to rant about her being his “tasty candy” and that she would “mend his broken heart”.
Chavoshinejad’s mentor claims that he began to imagine fictional takes on their interactions in their workplace – posting that he was going to ask their boss about their “relationship”.
