An Aberdeen footballer hit the back of the net yesterday as she scored an electronic and engineering degree from RGU.
Loren Campbell from Portlethen had juggled full-time work with her studies and football commitments – even taking her books with her on the team bus.
After four years of hard work the 24-year-old, an instrumentation designer with Wood Group PSN, celebrated her milestone with her parents and boyfriend yesterday.
She said: “By completing my degree, I have opened up more job opportunities for myself and I have also progressed my knowledge in the current job I am in.”
Miss Campbell has played with Aberdeen Ladies since she was 12, working her way up to the Premier League team.
Managing her time between night lectures and training was challenging, and she said a lot of Saturdays were spent studying in the library.
But now she has a BEng Electronic and Electrical Engineering degree, she hopes to progress her career in engineering.
“I’m hopeful that my degree could open opportunities for working abroad in the near future,” she said.
