THEATRE The Broons
The production celebrates The Broons in their 80th anniversary year. The Glebe Street gang have featured in DC Thomson comic strips in the Sunday Post since 1936. Scottish playwright Rob Drummond brings the characters to life for a Scottish audience in a production set to a Scottish soundtrack at HMT Aberdeen until October 22.
ART Jay Crowther
The fun and thoughtful creations of Jay Crowther would look at home on any wall. Enid Hutt Gallery in Aberdeen have a selection of prints from the artist who was born in Southampton in 1974. Jay developed a fascination with humanity and how people can feel marginalised and these feelings are mirrored in his work.
NIGHTLIFE Breakneck Comedy
If you need a bit of cheering up after a long week at work then look no further than a Saturday night filled with laughter at Aberdeen’s Blue Lamp. On October 22, Johnny Kats is joined by Vladimir McTavish, Keir McAllister and Gus Lymburn for an energetic evening.

Who doesn’t like a good old mystery to pass an evening with? Starlee Kine was a radio reporter but now she is in the mystery solving business and spends each episode solving the small crimes which plague our lives.
BOOK Journey to Munich
Continuing the mystery-theme mood I have found myself in this week, Jacqueline Winspear’s novel will get the brain ticking. Heroine Maisie Dobbs is sent to Hitler’s Germany on an undercover mission in this tale of danger and intrigue.
