As Halloween approaches, we look at some of the spine-tingling attractions and events taking place in Aberdeen and the north-east.

 

1. GHOULISH GHOST TOURS, CRATHES CASTLE, NEAR BANCHORY

Join in with some ghostly goings on at Crathes this Halloween. This ghoulish ghost tour comes with a warning – be prepared to be scared! It runs from October 28-31.

2. HADDO HOUSE HORROR

Dare to enter Haddo’s House of Horror…and tell the tale? Try out this realistic horror film experience on October 30 from 6-11.30pm.

3. CHILDREN’S TRADITIONAL SCOTTISH HALLOWEEN, CRATHES CASTLE

Visit Crathes for a traditional Scottish Halloween experience from October 29-30.

Come dressed for guising, get ready to make a tattie boggle and try and trick your way into the castle for a ghostly tour!

4. ZOOLAB HALLOWEEN, FYVIE CASTLE, ABERDEENSHIRE

Experience all sorts of creepy crawlies at Fyvie Castle on October 29.

Zoolab is returning to Fyvie Castle for Halloween. Get spooked in the racquets court with ghostly stories of strange creatures then you can go and meet them for yourself with the Zoolab Ranger.

5. WICKEDLY WONKY CHOCOLATE CHALLENGE, CASTLE FRASER, NEAR INVERURIE

There’s chocolate and gobstoppers and sweeties galore; there’s challenges to be done and rooms to explore. Do you have what it takes to earn your ticket of gold? Can you create the most lavish candy to behold? The castle is home to the Wickedly Wonky on October 29 and 30. ; there’s fun to be had – what more can we say. 6. HALLOWEEN AT BRODIE CASTLE, NEAR FORRES

A spooktacular fun-filled Halloween weekend at the Moray castle can be enjoyed on October 29 and October 30

7. HALLOWEEN PARTY @ GLENCOE VISITOR CENTRE, LOCHABER

Welcoming all witches, wizards and ghouls. Join the Glencoe Young Naturalists Club on October 29 for a spooky afternoon of Halloween fun. Don’t forget to come in fancy dress.

8. RIDE THE GHOST TRAIN @ DUFFTOWN STATION

There will be witches, ghosts, zombies and so much more at this Halloween event today.

Passengers are encouraged to dress up and book tickets in advance. The train departs at 6pm.

9. MURDER MYSTERY EVENING @ DURN HOUSE, PORTSOY

You are invited to the annual fancy dress party at Durn House where you can enjoy the tricks and spooky stories of Graeme Reaper.

Tickets include a four-course meal. It takes place on October 29 from 6.30pm.

10. MURDER AT THE MART, THAINSTONE EXCHANGE

A proper ‘who dunnit?’ murder mystery night is taking place at the Thainstone Centre on October 29 from 7.30pm to 11.30pm.

11. WRESTLEZONE: HALLOWEEN HIJINX 2016

Try something different this Halloween by getting ring-side seats to this clash. It takes place at Inverurie Town Hall on October 29 from 7pm.

12. HALLOWEEN PARTY, VICTORIA & ALBERT MEMORIAL HALL

A great party for kids aged 0-P7. Dress up, bring your carved pumpkins and be in the running for a prize.

It takes place on October 29 from 4-8pm at the hall in Station Square, Ballater.

13. FILM FRIGHT NIGHT,  CRATHES CASTLE, NEAR BANCHORY

On October 29, come to Crathes for an outdoor night-time screening of The Blair Witch Project… guaranteed to be the scariest Halloween ever! Over 18s only.
