Triple H himself was in London to announce that in January the first ever WWE United Kingdom Champion will be crowned following a special two-night tournament.
Competitors from across the home nations and Ireland are taking part, with William Regal one of those responsible for scouting.
Jordan Devlin, who’s trained by and hails from the same town as Finn Balor, is one competitor, while Trent Seven, Pete Dunne, Tyler Bate, Tyson T-Bone and Tiger Ali are some of the other fighters we’ll get to know on the UK’s WWE network.
On the nights of January 14 and January 15 they’ll take part in a single-elimination tournament for the very regal belt pictured above, helping shine a light on UK wrestlers.
The decision to bring a UK league – undertaken because “our passionate UK fans deserve to have their own Champion”, according to Triple H – has been praised.
